Saint Lucia Kings unveil new playing kit for Caribbean Premier League 2023

Saint Lucia Kings have released their new playing kit ahead of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023.

The two-time CPL finalists will wear a different shade of blue from the one they donned last season. The new kit is predominantly blue with yellow detailing and navy blue trousers. The jersey also features the Saint Lucia Kings logo on the chest.

The new kit reflects the identity of the island nation in the eastern Caribbean. The colours of the new jersey pay tribute to the Saint Lucia flag.

The franchise has retained Johnson Charles, Alzarri Joseph, Roston Chase, Roshon Primus, Jeavor Royal, Matthew Forde and Mckenny Clarke for the upcoming season. The Kings have also roped in all-rounder Khary Pierre, who has been transferred from the Trinbago Knight Riders. The remaining players of the squad, including overseas signings, will be revealed during a draft show on Friday, June 30. The draft show will be broadcast live on CPL’s Facebook and YouTube pages from 10:30 AM Eastern Caribbean Time.

Under the tutelage of head coach Daren Sammy, the Kings qualified for the playoffs for the third consecutive season last year. They lost to eventual champions Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL 2022 Eliminator.

Saint Lucia Kings will begin their CPL 2023 campaign against defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia on August 16.
